About YooYee 喜又
Authentic Chinese cuisine, Szechuan, hand pulled noodles and desserts
Located at 4925 N Broadway Unit E, Chicago, IL 60640, YooYee 喜又 operates as a chinese restaurant serving Chicago in Illinois. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it.
In cities with a Chinatown, weekend mornings bring dim sum carts or order sheets, and lines form early at the most popular spots in Chicago; walk-ins are standard and reservations are uncommon outside large banquet restaurants. Regional labels matter: Cantonese, Sichuan, Hunan, Shanghainese and Taiwanese kitchens cook very differently, so a restaurant's stated region is a better guide to the food than the word "Chinese" alone. Some smaller restaurants in Illinois are BYOB with no corkage fee; call ahead to confirm. A tip of 15-20% is customary for table service but not expected at counter-order takeout. Spice level, MSG and allergen questions are normal to ask before ordering, and most kitchens are happy to leave an ingredient out or tone down the heat if you mention it when ordering rather than after the food arrives.
The business lists hours on 7 days of the week. The most common schedule is 11:30 am–9:30 pm. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. The listed phone number is (773) 754-0455. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. Its website is yooyeechicago.com, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.
On Google it holds a rating of 4.6 out of 5 from 864 reviews, which is a strong result for a chinese restaurant in Chicago and suggests consistent service.
Chicago is in Illinois, in the Midwest, where summers are warm, winters are cold and snowy, and most errands are done by car; businesses keep steady year-round hours with the usual holiday changes. Traffic in Chicago peaks on weekday mornings and afternoons, so allow extra time then. Addresses read from the street number up to the city, state abbreviation and five-digit ZIP code; the map link on this page shows the exact spot.

The food here is delicious, numbing, flavorful. I have visited twice and enjoyed the peppercorn fish soup which is incredible and my genuinely favorite in the city when it comes to Szechuan food. The hand pulled noodles and fried tofu are also great. The one thing that prevents me from giving a high review is the inconsistent service, like forgetting to provide plates for everyone, any bowls for soup, enough rice and chopsticks, and having to fight for the waiters attention constantly to get even small things even when the restaurant is less busy (only two other tables). They even look at us calling for them then quickly glance away. Thankfully one waitress noticed and got us what we need. The automatic 20% gratuity with service so half hearted gave me a bad impression. I understand if it is busy, but in this case it wasn’t. I regret not asking to adjust the gratuity.

Food: 9/10 I've lived in China for a long time, and I have to say, this restaurant genuinely impressed me. It's easy to see why it gets so much praise. We ordered the cold beef shank appetizer, fish fillet with green peppercorn soup (plus five dollars for the live fish), Xinjiang style lamb, stir fried cabbage, spicy beef brisket hand pulled noodle soup, and vermicelli with shrimp. The fish with green peppercorn was my favorite by far. The fish was incredibly fresh, and the flavor was completely authentic. Second place goes to the Xinjiang style lamb. It reminded me of the fresh lamb I used to have in China, and honestly, this was the first time in Chicago I felt like I was actually back there. The vermicelli shrimp was a close third, nicely done. The stir fried cabbage was simple but done right, something a lot of Chinese restaurants in Chicago tend to overlook. The cold beef shank appetizer was okay, but a little disappointing compared to other versions I've had before. The hand pulled noodle soup, which seems to be their signature dish, was solid, but personally I thought the other dishes outshined it. A few practical notes: there's two hour free parking right next to the restau

We shared: 1. Original Braised Beef Brisket Handpulled Noodle Soup 2. Dan Dan Noodle 3. Pork Ribs with Fried Garlic 4. Fish Fillet with Pickled Vegetables Every dish was really good and big in portion, very shareable. Noodles were fresh and had good chew. Rice was even properly sticky and dry to my preference. The fried garlic is delicious on the rice. I appreciate the numbing spice isn't so much that it overwhelms tasting other dishes. Service was .... questionable. We initially orded sweet skinned duck, were told no more, then towards the end of our meal, saw a ducka rrive at the table next to ours. Food was unquestionably good but if this happens again, will have to rethink my review

The food was excellent! The texture of the hand pulled noodles were so fun to eat! The scallion pancakes were extra flaky, crispy and delicious too! The service was top notch. Great staff! Can't wait to visit again!

Super unassuming spot, but the line out the door speaks for itself. Yoo Yee has quickly become a powerhouse for Szechuan cooking in Uptown and is an absolute must-visit. We ordered the Beef & Broccoli, Braised Short Rib Noodles, and Chili Oil Wontons—everything was outstanding. The wontons are thick, perfectly tender, and swimming in a chili oil sauce that leans far more flavorful than spicy, in the best way. The Beef & Broccoli was incredibly tender with a sauce that hits that perfect balance of rich and light, coating both the rice and broccoli beautifully. And the noodles—just wow. Perfect comfort food for a cold or rainy Chicago day. The braised beef is melt-in-your-mouth tender, and the broth is deeply comforting with just enough heat to clear you out without overpowering. Service is impressively fast once seated, and the staff is attentive without being intrusive. Easily a new favorite Chinese spot in Chicago.
